President
Jackson Sipple-Asher, St. Stephens and St. Agnes's School president@virginiajcl.org Salvete, omnes! I am a Junior at St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School, and feel so unbelievably fortunate to serve as this year’s VJCL President! I am in my sixth year of taking Latin, and love everything about the subject, being especially fascinated by Greek/Roman mythology and Latin literature. In particular, I have a large love for Ovid and his Metamorphoses, as well as Arthur Golding’s English translation of the poem. Outside of Latin, I am a big literature nerd and am always excited and willing to discuss books with anyone. I also work in the plays and musicals at my school. My favorite mythological or historical figure would have to be Dionysus, since Euripides’ Bacchae is my favorite work of fiction! |

First Vice President
Alec Sweet, Flint Hill School 1stvp@virginiajcl.org Salvete omnes, I am Alec Sweet, and I am very excited and honored to be serving as your First Vice President this year. I am currently a Junior at Flint Hill taking AP Latin. This is my 5th year taking Latin, and I have loved it all along. Though, it should be said, my love for VJCL is even greater. I am so thrilled to be a part of this community, and to help it grow. Outside of Latin, I love history, and am the president of my school’s History Club. I also love theater, and am involved in SCA. My favorite classical mythological or historical figure would have to be the very basic answer of Alexander the Great. Besides sharing his name, I also think that he was a brilliant strategist, and without him we wouldn’t have such cool things as Hellenic Egypt. |

Second Vice President
Maddie Addeo, Wakefield Country Day School 2ndvp@virginiajcl.org Salvete omnes! I am a sophomore at Wakefield Country Day School, and I am committed to using my time in office to improve VJCL service and spread the VJClove! I have been hooked on classics for the past four years; I think it’s fascinating how we can see classical language and culture reflected in everyday life. Outside of the classics I love biology, card games (which I am unnecessarily competitive with), and sports. My favorite historical or mythological figure is Cloelia because she showed that determination will get you where you want to go. |

Communications Coordinator
Hart Miller, Clover Hill High School commcoordinator@virginiajcl.org Salve! I am a Junior at Clover Hill High School and am incredibly excited to serve as the Communications Coordinator for 2026 keeping our board and chapters connected! This is my third year of learning Latin and I can't get enough of it. When I’m not working on VJCL projects I love to play volleyball and take photos. I can’t wait to see what this year has in store for the VJCL. My favorite mythological or historical figure is totally Odysseus as he has such an exaggerated and dramatic story. Carpe Diem! |

Parliamentarian
Mira Stallard, Monacan High School parliamentarian@virginiajcl.org Salvete amicae! I am Mira Stallard, and I am a Junior at Monacan High School Humanities in Central Virginia. I am in my 6th year of Latin as an AP student and I'm my Latin club’s inaugural parliamentarian. Outside of Latin, I am a member of the colour and winter guard, as well the founder and president of the Young Politics club. I love all things government, law, classics, architecture, art history, and Percy Jackson (obviously). My favorite mythological/historical figure would have to be Julius Caesar for his military conquests and political reign. I am so honoured to serve as your parliamentarian this year and don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions! |

Historian
Suzie Han, TJHSST historian@virginiajcl.org Salvete! Mihi nomen est Suzie “Alma” Han, and I am currently a junior at TJHSST in my 5th year of latin, and I am super excited to be serving as your VJCL historian! Outside of Latin, I enjoy spending my time painting, playing piano/flute, and cooking (especially whatever ancient recipes I can get my hands on). My favorite mythological/historical figure is Cupid, particularly in Ovid’s Amores and Daphne and Apollo (he’s just a silly little guy :)). |

Editor
Cricket Lammers, Thomas Edison High School editor@virginiajcl.org Salve! I am a Junior at Thomas Edison High School. Words can not express how delighted I am to be your editor. I am currently in my third year of taking Latin, my favorite part is definitely Ancient Roman history and more specifically their architecture and legal system. Outside of Latin, I work on my school's yearbook and my school's magazine as an editor. I'm also a part of Color Guard and love to spin a flag. My favorite mythological or historical figure is Icarus because he wouldn't let anyone stop him from achieving his dreams even though he knew it would result in his downfall. |
